Scholarships

scholarship8VUST offers the academic-merit scholarships to those gifted students. The academic-merit scholarship will be used to pay the portion of the student’s tuition and fees. The qualification of academic-merit scholarships are described as follows:

A.    President Scholarship ($5,000.00 per year):

a.    Must be a fulltime student at VUST.
b.    Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with GPA of 3.90 or above on a 4.0 scale from an accredited college/university; or

c.    Bachelor Degree with GPA of 3.50 in 4.0 scale from an accredited college/university, and having a valid CISSP certification with 5+ year working experience in IT field; or
c.    Bachelor Degree from an accredited college/university, and also having a current position as CIO, CTO, CSO, VP for Information Technology, or an equivalent executive officer position in IT field, also qualified to receive President Scholarship at VUST.
d.    GPA at VUST must keep 3.50 or above on the 4.0 scale each term.

B.    Dean Scholarship ($2,500.00 per year):

a.    Must be a fulltime student at VUST.
b.    Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with GPA of 3.75 in the 4.0 scale from an accredited college/university.
c.    GPA at VUST must keep 3.50 or above on the 4.0 scale each term.

C.    Professional Achievement Scholarship ($2,500.00 onetime):scholarship2

a.    Must be a fulltime student at VUST.
b.    Bachelor Degree from an accredited college/university;
c.    Have one of three valid professional certifications:

i.    Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
ii.    Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)
iii.    Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

d.    Must currently work in the IT Security Field.
e.    Applicants have a current position as Senior Director, Senior Technical Leader, IT Director, IT Manager, or an equivalent senior position in IT field, also qualified to receive Professional Achievement Scholarship at VUST.
f.    GPA at VUST must keep 3.50 or above on the 4.0 scale each term.

D.    ISC2 Women’s in Cybersecurity Scholarship (up to $40,000.00 per year)

VUST participates in the ISC2 Women’s in Cybersecurity Scholarship (IWCS) program. Female students with bachelor’s GPA of 3.30 or above are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students who receive the IWCS scholarship can use it to pay tuition and fees for VUST’s MSCIA program. For more information, visit: https://iamcybersafe.org/scholarships/womens-scholarships/

E.    Tuition Scholarship (up to $5,175.00  renew every quarter)

a.    Must be a fulltime student at VUST.
b.    Students that possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and IT related majors with a GPA of 3.85+/4.0 are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Financial need is the primary factor considered by VUST in connection with its review of the application.
c.     GPA at VUST must keep 3.85 or above on the 4.0 scale each term.

 F.    Teaching Assistant Scholarship (up to $2,000.00 per quarter/semester)

a.    Must be enrolled in a fulltime graduate school program at VUST.
b.    Students that possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and IT related majors with a GPA of 3.50+/4.0 in the 4.0 scale from an accredited college/university.
c.    Applicant must have the key skills, but not limited to, as followings:

i.    Outstanding oral/communication skills
ii.   Excellent instructing skills – Teaching/helping students to study in classroom and lab.
iii.    Strong knowledge and hand-on skills in setup network, network architect, network and security using virtual lab,   cybersecurity skills, network security,  database setup and security, software security, and etc.
iv.    Must work 12 hours per week and must work in Wednesday evening and Saturday or pre-required schedule date.

d.    GPA at VUST must keep 3.50 or above on the 4.0 scale each term.
